Are Purrkins and IndieCat foods preservative-free?
Yes. Every recipe is gently cooked and retort-sealed, which makes the pouch shelf-stable without a single chemical preservative. No artificial colours, flavours, or fillers are used.
What is retort sealing and why does it matter?
Retort sealing cooks and sterilises the food inside its sealed pouch. It keeps the food fresh and safe at room temperature without preservatives or refrigeration until the pouch is opened — the same principle that keeps food fresh in a sealed jar.
How long do the pouches last and do they need refrigeration?
Unopened pouches are shelf-stable until the best-before date printed on the pack and need no refrigeration. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 48 hours.
How much wet food should I feed my cat?
As a general guide, an average adult cat needs roughly 2 to 4 pouches a day depending on weight, age, and activity level, served as a complete meal. Adjust to your cat's body condition and consult your vet for cats with specific health needs.
What is the difference between Purrkins and IndieCat?

Do you make food for kittens and senior cats?
Yes. There are dedicated kitten recipes (such as Kitten Beef and Chicken and Kitten Lamb and Chicken) formulated for growth from weaning to 12 months, and senior recipes designed to be soft, easy to digest, and supportive of joints, vision, and cognition.
Where are the ingredients sourced from?
Ingredients are farm-fresh and traceable — including freshwater fish from Vijayawada and tuna and mackerel from Cochin.

How do I transition my cat to Pets of Paradise wet food?
